As part of your journey with Fair Ways, you will take part in RiiSE training.
RiiSE stands for Relationship-Inspired Ideas for Support Environments, and it is our trauma-informed approach to working with the children, young people, and families we support.
This training covers important, but sometimes difficult and emotional content. We talk about topics such as childhood trauma, attachment, and the impact of adverse childhood experiences. Understandably, some people reflect on the individual they are caring for having these experiences and possibly their own personal experiences of these subjects. We want to acknowledge that these subjects can be challenging, and it is natural to feel strong emotions as we explore them.
You may be thinking – Why do we do this training? Well, we do it because it matters.
RiiSE is not just a one-time training course, giving you a set of tools – it’s a shared commitment, and it shapes our culture here at Fair Ways. It asks each of us to reflect on our own practice, challenge ourselves, and work as a team to offer care that is compassionate, safe, and effective.
We understand that this training programme will discuss sometimes difficult and emotional content, and we encourage attendees to look after themselves during the sessions with regular breaks and support.
Together, through RiiSE, we know we can make a difference in the lives of the individuals we support.
