Fair Ways School Teachers Receive Recognition in the Pearson National Teaching Awards 

We are incredibly proud to celebrate two of our teachers from GLADE School and Fair Ways School Swanwick, Charlene and Ryan, who have both been recognised in the prestigious Pearson National Teaching Awards. 

Earlier this year, Charlene and Ryan were nominated for the Secondary School Teacher of the Year Award, which recognises exceptional teachers who inspire, support and transform the lives of children through their dedication to education. The Pearson National Teaching Awards celebrate excellence across schools and colleges throughout the UK, recognising those who make a lasting difference to children’s lives. 

We are delighted to share that both Charlene and Ryan were awarded Highly Commended, an achievement that reflects the passion, commitment and care they bring to their roles every single day. 

As part of this recognition, both teachers also received a personal letter from Sir Michael Morpurgo, President of the Teaching Awards Trust, congratulating them on their outstanding contribution to education and the positive impact they have on the lives of their students. This acknowledgement from one of the UK’s most respected authors and education advocates makes the recognition even more special. 

At Fair Ways, our teachers go above and beyond to create an environment where every student feels safe, supported and inspired to achieve their potential. Working with children and young people who have experienced barriers to education requires patience, creativity and unwavering dedication, qualities that Charlene and Ryan demonstrate every day. 

Their nominations were a reflection not only of their exceptional teaching but also of the meaningful relationships they build with students, helping them develop confidence, resilience and a love of learning. 

Everyone at Fair Ways is immensely proud of Charlene and Ryan for this well-deserved recognition. Their achievement is a testament to the incredible talent and dedication within our education team and highlights the life-changing impact that passionate teachers can have on young people.
