Autumn/Winter activities for families on the South Coast

Below is a little list of family fun activities along the south coast. These would be great for any foster carers along the south coast.

Portsmouth

  • Guildhall Ice-Rink 17/11/21-6/1/22. Back again for another year running, this beautful icerink can take 200 people at a time and is a hit every year. Whether your a pro or a novice you will have fun at this wintery activity.
  • Gunwharf Firework show. 8/11/21 6PM. This spectacular event is free to attend and perfect for all ages. Plus with a range of restuarants and shops to choose from you could start the christmas shopping early before the show and take the kids out for a meal after, for a whole lot of saturday night fun.

Southampton

  • Pick your own Pumpkins at Pick Well farm. The pumpkins are availible through out october. This trip is a great couple of hours in the fresh air just remeber to pack your wellies if its been raining.
  • If you are looking to shelter from the rain a shopping day at Westquay is the perfect answer. With over 90 shops to visit there is something for everyone. A favouirte with the kids are the Lego shop, Build-a-bear and Hamleys.

Bournemouth

  • This year a christmas tree wonderland is coming to bournmouth from the 19/11/21 – 2/1/22. This is a free event and takes visitors on a trail across the town, to see over 100 festive alluminations. Along the trail there will be a number of festiive food an drink stands, a christmas market and even the chance for sleigh rides.

Isle of wight

  • A visit to Dinosaur Isle. If one of your children is a fan of dinosors then this is the place for them. This is a child friendy showcase of fossils and bones and it is very interactve with lots of this to touch and smell, and for a autumn/winter bonus its all undercover.
  • Havenstreet Steam Railway. This is a very special christmas day out. The day starts with a atmospheric train ride through wintery woodland inside beautifully restored Victorian carriages. After this you have the oportunity to follow a pathway to Santa’s North Pole Station, where you’re welcomed by the seasonal Station Master and his helpers. Here you’ll be entertained while you wait to meet Santa himself, on board his traditionally festive Victorian carriage. (Children visiting Santa will receive a high-quality present.)
