We are looking for a positive and fun role model to come and work therapeutically with our residents within our Residential Children’s home based in Bournemouth. The role will be to ensure the safety and well-being of up to two vulnerable young people with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties.

Our ideal Residential Support Worker will show us their ability to be;
- Responsible for supporting Children and Young People by engaging them in various activities, supporting their education and ensuring that the home is kept to a good standard which will include housekeeping responsibilities.
- Able to manage challenging behaviour resulting from complex needs and recognising the need to intervene using positive handling strategies, in order to ensure the safety of young people and colleagues.
- Undertaking direct work on a one to one or group work basis with children/young people. This could include transport, social activities and other appropriate necessary activities.
You, as the successful candidate will need to have experience of working with children with challenging behaviour ideally in a residential setting. You will need to be enthusiastic, reliable, resilient and committed to supporting children with a variety of needs and possess knowledge of the Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards. It is desired that you as the successful applicant, will hold or be working towards a qualification relevant to the post, such as a Level 3 Diploma in Childcare. All applicants will hold a full UK driving licence and own their own car. All staff will undergo DBS checks at the enhanced level. The disclosure cost will be met by Fair Ways.
