- Fair Ways Foundation Charity has acquired Fairways Care (UK) Limited.
- Ambitious plans to grow Fostering, Residential & Education Services in the region.
- The Foundation launches grant scheme for disadvantaged children.
Fair Ways Foundation Charity (Reg. No. 1159854) has acquired Fairways Care (UK) Ltd, now trading as Fair Ways. The company has a new strapline ‘making a difference, not a profit’.
Fair Ways employs over 220 staff in the Solent region and provides a range of children’s services including Fostering, Residential Care, Post 16 Care and Education on behalf of 8 separate Local Authorities.
Mac Mchugh (MD Fair Ways) comments:
“It is highly unusual for a successful private company to voluntarily move to charitable ownership. This fulfils a dream of many years and will mean that rather than benefit shareholders, all profits will now be reinvested in services for children and young people and ensuring Fair Ways staff are the best trained, supported and remunerated in the sector.”
The Charity has ambitious plans to increase the range of services across the Solent region, in particular to expand the Fostering Services and is seeking new and existing carers to meet the very high levels of demand for the service.
In addition the Charity is launching details of grants of up to £5000 for disadvantaged young people – Details on Foundation Grants.
Statement from Ian Davies (Chairman of Trustees Fair Ways Foundation):
“Fair Ways Foundation is delighted to have acquired Fair Ways Care (UK) Ltd. This provides an opportunity to expand Fair Ways, and build a platform for the Charity to really make a difference to the lives of children through our grant making programme.”
