The Fostering Network
‘In 1974 a group of foster carers and social workers sat around a kitchen table in Camden, north London. Their mission? To improve the experiences of fostered children, by recognising the role of foster care and foster carers, and ensuring that national and local governments across the UK did the same. This was the beginning of the organisation known as The Fostering Network.’
We understand the challenges that Foster Carers face, and how isolating this role can potentially become. It is important to know that support is available to carers, not just within Fair Ways, but also externally through charity run organisations such as The Fostering Network.
The Fostering Network encapsulates everything fostering, bringing together everyone involved in fostering to act as a powerful catalyst for change, to achieve better outcomes for young people in foster care.
Being a member of the Fostering Network gives you the opportunity to work effectively as part of a team to help make foster care better for children. It will not only provide you with support and benefits to help you in your vital role, but also allow your voice to be heard, contributing to changes in fostering nationally.
