About Fair Ways Education
Fair Ways Education has three sites; a Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) specialist School in Swanwick, a Autistic Spectrum Conditions (ASC) specialist School in Totton and a third, Education Resource Centre based in Fareham.
Fair Ways Education is guided by a therapeutic ethos which informs all interactions with the students. Students are generally taught on a one-one basis initially, with a view to enabling collaborative working with peers to enhance the social and emotional aspects of their learning. All students have a bespoke curriculum designed around their specific needs with the best possible route of re-engagement.
We have links to Highbury College, South Downs College, Fareham College and EBP Work Experience which provide vocational training for KS4 students. The therapeutic ethos of the school ensures that the most appropriate and effective relationships are maintained with both staff and peers. Nurturing positive relationships is essential for achieving successful educational and developmental outcomes for all our students.
All of our staff are very experienced in working effectively with vulnerable teenagers both with learning difficulties and social and emotional development issues caused by early life trauma. The vast amount of experience and skills vary amongst the staff team including NVQ Level 3 in Child Care, Qualified Teaching Status, Psychodynamic Counselling and a mixture of qualifications up to Masters Level, all of which contribute to the overall success of the school.
