Model of Care

We are crisis intervention provisions. In our homes, we use a solution focussed model in order to help young people look towards their future and help them achieve their goals. This is to support them to move on to long term placements following their short term stay with us.

Therapeutic Provision

The Hub (clinical and therapeutic) department is based at Fort Wallington in Fareham. The Hub is a multi-disciplinary therapeutic service central to all other Fair Ways services. The Hub works to ensure children’s emotional, social and educational needs are identified through effective screening and clinical assessment.

Education

Here in Wales, we do not offer curriculum-based education due to the short term nature of our placements. Alternatively, we use outdoor activities in order to support young people to build self-esteem and gain a sense of achievement by trying new things. The activities are high intensity and allow young people to build trusting relationships with appropriate adults.

We provide the following activities:

Gorge Walking

Hill and Mountain Walking

Geocashing

Bushcraft

Canoeing and Kayaking

Mountain Biking

Coasteering

Surfing and Bobyboarding

Indoor Climbing

Outdoor Climbing

Childrens guide

Every one of our homes has a children's guide for our young people, so they know what it is like living with us
