We are looking for a positive and fun role model to come and work therapeutically with our residents within our Residential Children’s home based in Bournemouth. The role will include ensuring the safety and well-being of up to two vulnerable young people with complex emotional and behavioural difficulties, as well as supporting the manager in leading and mentoring the team.

Our ideal Residential Shift Leader will show us their ability to;
- Lead the team and be able to proactively engage with young people to establish, maintain and end safe-boundaried relationships and provide a loving, caring and homely experience.
- Observe, assess and monitor young people’s health development and emotional well-being, by promoting high standards of physical care, hygiene and safety for all young people in the home.
- To manage and analyse challenging behaviour resulting from complex needs and formulate plans to reduce the likelihood of future events and to support colleagues in reflective practice to develop an understanding of the underlying issues resulting in challenging behaviour.
You, as the successful candidate will need to have experience of working with children with challenging behaviour ideally in a residential setting. You will need to be enthusiastic, reliable, resilient and committed to supporting children with a variety of needs and possess knowledge of the Children’s Home Regulations and Quality Standards. You will also need to have some experience in leading and mentoring others. All applicants will hold a full UK driving licence and own their own car. All staff will undergo DBS checks at the enhanced level. The disclosure cost will be met by Fair Ways.
